These Boys Kick Butt!
I was just surfing the Archive for something new and the Bands name got my attention. As soon as I heard them I thought it was my friend Wayne Hancock, then I thought it might be Hank III. But no! These boys carry on the great tradition of Hank Williams and Texas Swing. Great live shows like this one are getting harder to find. i see they have several shows but only three in MP3 format ... need to get them converted! If you look through all their uploads you will find some blurry pictures of the band, but enough to convince me that they were not actually Wayne in cognito! Great shows!

Fun country
sound quality is great. not fully 'there' (as a soundboard) but you can hear the yells of the ramblin' cowboys in the audience. A fun country / pedal steel / violin show. Similar to Wayne "The Train" Handcock shows... this is a fun one, I had never heard of the band before today, I was just looking to grab a streaming show and this guys' band name sounded fun.

Great show
I took a chance with this group thinking it might be a gimick, but instead I was turned onto something new and wonderful! If you dig classic country like Johnny Cash, you'll love these boys. I'm still doing a musical double-take that it's not Wayne Hancock who's singing. Speaking of 'The Train," his bass player Shawn Supra is one of the Resin Valley Boys along with Hank III's steel guitar player Dan Johnson. I predict that these boys will someday take their rightful place alongside other Texan greats like Junior Brown, Wayne Hancock, Asleep At The Wheel, etc.
As for this Continental Club show, it sounds really good. There is just enough audience on the recording so that it actually enhances the set. As reviewer Holden Green stated, there is a great balance of originals and time-tested covers.
At the time of review, this was "the most downloaded" Resin Valley Boys show but I didn't give it 5 stars since there are quite a few better sounding shows within the Internet Archive. Two examples include: Ruta Maya (11-29-03) and Flipnotics (3-20-04). While this 4-24-04 show sounds good, download it after the two previously mentioned shows. Also check out their CD "Texas Hill Country" which is really good. Enjoy!
